So I had an earthquake and a hurricane in the same week.  Hopefully this is the only time that I’ll be able to say that.  However I faired very well.  There was no damage to my house.  I’ve just lost power.  I haven’t had electricity since Saturday and when I’ve used power sources to try and use my internet, that has been down too.  I’ve been pretty comfortable though.  It’s been very nice outside, not hot or humid.  The things that I bought for my trip to All Good (my favorite hippy music fest) have really saved my ass.  I had a jump box and a power inverter to use to charge my phone and laptop.  A camp shower and shower tent to bathe in hot water.  I also haven’t lost much food.  I feel very lucky, because a lot of people in the area were not so fortunate.

The ETR on my power actually says that it should be restored this evening so that is a relief.  And if my internet doesn’t follow too far behind I’ll be able to cam again! Two unplanned nights off from work is no fun.  But it could be much worse.
