My Turntable Is Here!
Yes this is what I’m most excited about. With a gift card from a beloved fan I ordered my first turntable from Amazon Christmas night. I waited and waited patiently and then realized the fuckin’ thing could have taken until Feb 9 to get here, so earlier this week I cancelled that order and got it from another place. She arrived yesterday.
I didn’t think I was going to have time to mess with it until… well I had no idea when I was going to have time to, but Streamate was giving me a hard time last night. Sometimes even though I’m streaming in HD, it won’t put the HD icon on my display pic which puts me way back on god knows what page instead of at the top of the front page so there is basically no reason for me to be on there. I don’t know why this happens and apparently it’s some kind of phenomenon ’cause support has never been any help at all with it, and I’m not the only girl it happens to.
Anyway since that bullshit was going on last night I ditched free chat, set up my turntable, and listened to some tunes. I first listened to a little bit of Amnesiac by Radiohead. I’ve listened to this album dozens of times but listening to it on vinyl with great headphones made it somehow sound new. Another fan surprised me with an original 1976 pressing of the soundtrack from Led Zeppelin’s film, The Song Remains The Same. I cleaned those records up real good and gave them a spin. It sounded so close to what it would if I were right there in the audience. I certainly have a new favorite hobby, my friends. Here are some pics of my enjoyment.
Not quite a hobby, but semi-related, I’ve decided that I want to start working out with kettlebell weights. I’ve already been doing yoga for quite sometime and just got into a more strenuous regime with that. I want to add weights ’cause I wanna be strong, and I want to do something more challenging with my body. I’m not sure when I’m going to be starting this ’cause I’m basically broke. My little bout of depression and the holidays made me slack off for a couple weeks so… you know how that goes. I have put a 15lb kettlebell and a workout dvd on my wishlist though if any of you amazing men are in the gift giving mood. 🙂
I’m so glad it’s Friday. I’m so tired today and it’s been a busy busy week. I plan to cam tonight. Have to run some errands beforehand so not sure what time I’ll be on, but you’ll be able to Skype with me or come see me on Streamate or AdultWork.
Tomorrow night I’ll be hangin’ at home with an old gal pal, then Sunday night it’s either Comicon or a wine drinking get together. We shall see. Should be a nice, fun, relaxing weekend… filled with alcohol.
